About Oakridge Venture Group

Acquisitions and advisory. Operator-led perspective.

A U.S.-based business pursuing selective acquisitions and providing fee-based strategic M&A advisory and business consulting.

Company overview

Built to connect deal strategy with operational reality.

Oakridge Venture Group LLC combines fee-based M&A advisory and business consulting with selective acquisitions of privately held U.S. businesses for its own account. These are distinct activities: advisory engagements serve the agreed client scope, while acquisition discussions identify Oakridge as a prospective buyer.

Both activities require disciplined evaluation, operational understanding and practical execution planning. Oakridge focuses on the business behind the transaction: customers, management, systems, reporting, continuity and opportunities for improvement.

Planned growth

Building a U.S.-based team

Oakridge plans to expand its U.S.-based team as the business grows, adding support for executive administration, acquisitions, advisory delivery and operations. This is intended to increase capacity across both business activities while maintaining clear executive oversight.

M&A Advisory Acquisition Strategy Growth & Value Creation

James Caan leads Oakridge Venture Group with experience across mergers and acquisitions, business consultancy, real estate, construction, operations, transportation, automotive, marketing, professional services, retail and business ownership. His background combines strategic acquisition thinking with practical owner and operator experience.

Through Oakridge, James supports clients evaluating acquisition opportunities, preparing for integration and strengthening business performance. His approach is commercially grounded: clarify the acquisition thesis, identify material risks, test assumptions against operating reality and translate findings into practical priorities, decision gates and accountable next steps.

That operator perspective informs Oakridge’s focus on management depth, customer concentration, reporting quality, operational efficiency, scalability, integration readiness and execution capacity. The objective is not transaction activity for its own sake, but disciplined decision-making and a practical route to sustainable value creation.

Where legal, tax, accounting, financing or other specialist advice is required, Oakridge works alongside the client’s appointed professional advisers. This keeps Oakridge focused on strategic, commercial and operational advisory while specialist matters remain with the appropriate professionals.

“A successful transaction is not simply one that completes. It is one that withstands scrutiny, avoids preventable downside and creates lasting value after close.”

Clear analysis. Practical planning. Accountable execution.

01

Define the decision

Clarify the objective, context, acquisition thesis and constraints before analysing the opportunity.

02

Focus on material issues

03

Build the roadmap

Set priorities, decision gates, accountable owners and practical next steps.

04

Track what matters

What makes us different

Decision-focused advisory grounded in operating reality.

We look at the full picture: strategy, management, customers, operations, systems, people, margins, risk and execution. Then we focus the work on what matters most.

01

Make the decision easier to see

Separate material issues from noise and make assumptions explicit.

02

Test strategy against operations

Assess whether the people, systems and operating model can support the acquisition thesis.

03

Translate advice into action

Define priorities, accountable owners and the next decision point.
